Gatklettur

During the first days of our Iceland vacation, we had to contend with typical Icelandic weather: windy and rainy. This picture was taken at the Gatklettur. Gatklettur is one of the captivating basalt formations along Iceland's coastline. Its name means "Hole Rock" in Icelandic, and it's distinguished by an impressive, naturally formed hole in the middle. This formation is the result of volcanic activity and erosion over the millennia.
